About Judith Kornfeld

Judith L. Kornfeld (jkornfeld@esopeconomics.com) is president of ESOP Economics, Inc., a Philadelphia, PA, firm that specializes in repurchase obligation services for employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) companies. The firm performs repurchase obligation studies and provides consulting services to assist companies in developing strategies for managing and funding repurchase obligations. Judy has over 20 years' experience advising privately owned businesses on tax and financial planning issues including executive benefits, ownership succession planning, and insurance funding. For the past 10 years she has focused her practice on ESOPs, and she is nationally recognized for her expertise on repurchase obligation planning. She speaks at many ESOP conferences and has authored a number of articles on repurchase obligation issues that have appeared in the Journal of Pension Benefits, the NCEO's Journal of Employee Ownership Law and Finance, the NCEO's book How ESOP Companies Handle the Repurchase Obligation, and the ESOP Report. She presently serves as an officer of the ESOP Association's Pennsylvania Chapter, is past chair of its Finance Advisory Committee, and served on its most recent Strategic Plan Committee.

Judy received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her M.B.A from The Wharton School.
