Our ESOP Q&A is an online resource with hundreds of questions and answers about employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and related issues--just about every question of note we have been asked or should have been asked. (The Q&A does not address equity compensation plans such as stock options.) It replaces our old "Q&A Disk." The new version of the Q&A has been revised and expanded, and we will update it continuously as needed.

The Q&A is not a technical reference with citations to section numbers, etc., but rather a resource to answer questions in a clear and concise way. It does not replace our books, but rather supplements them. You can either browse through the Q&A's categories of questions or search by keyword(s). To access the Q&A, all you need is a Web browser and an Internet connection.

Terms of Use

If you are not an NCEO member, access to the Q&A is granted solely to you as an individual, and you may not share access with others.

If you are an NCEO member, on the other hand, access to the Q&A extends to anyone covered by your membership. This means:
  • If you have an individual membership (the standard membership for a consultant or other service provider, or an academic or other individual with a non-business interest in the field), that membership, and access to the Q&A when you buy it, extends only to you.
  • If you are a consultant or other service provider in this field and you have a Referral Service membership, that membership, and access to the Q&A when you buy it, extends to others in your office, but not to other locations.
  • If you are a company (that is not a service provider in this field), your membership extends to everyone in your company, and if you buy the Q&A, the right to use your username and password will likewise extend to everyone in your company.

There is no expiration date for your username and password. It will last as long as the Q&A lasts in this form, and in no case shorter than a year.
