In this 40-minute presentation from 2006, NCEO executive director Corey Rosen traces the development of broad-based employee ownership in the U.S. through ESOPs, stock options, and other plans. He briefly describes how each plan works as well as discussing the economic, social, and political thinking behind them. Research results on how effective employee ownership is for employees and companies is also reviewed. Rosen is the coauthor of Equity: Why Employee Ownership Is Good for Business (Harvard Business School Press, 2005). This presentation was one of a series of events featuring Rosen at business schools around the country sponsored by Charles Schwab.
