Some of the most successful ESOP companies build employee ownership into each step of the employment cycle: recruitment that encourages people with an entrepreneurial mindset to join the company, training programs that give them the tools to act like owners, and job evaluations that hold people accountable for ownership responsibilities. Few people would argue with this in theory, but the nuts and bolts can be daunting: how do you integrate employee ownership into job descriptions? who should be involved in job evaluation? how do you avoid providing more information than new hires can absorb? We'll hear from a company that has successfully answered these and other questions.
