Note: conference room block prices are available only via phone reservations. Rates are guaranteed, if rooms in our block are still available, through March 24, 2010. Reservations received after that date will be accepted on a space-and-rate-available basis. If the hotel is full, or if you are interested in alternative accommodations, please check online sources or call the NCEO office (510) 208-1300 to obtain a list of nearby hotels with comparable rates.

Did you know that reserving a room in the conference block is important? The number of sleeping rooms in the conference hotel occupied by attendees affects overall conference costs and allows us to continue to keep registration fees affordable.

A Green Meeting

We continue to work on keeping our conference as green as possible. We try to purchase materials locally, if possible, and will be offering refillable water bottles in place of disposable bottled water and limiting excessive paper use by offering conference materials online and in a CD format for all attendees. The Hilton Minneapolis also has many green initiatives in place. Some of these include: body heat sensitive thermostats and door switches in guest rooms and meeting rooms; fluorescent light bulbs; water conserving fixtures in bathrooms; mattress covers made of bamboo fabric; donation to local shelters of used shampoo, conditioner, and lotion bottles; recycling throughout of paper, cans and bottles; food scraps or leftovers picked up by Second Harvest and processed into animal feed for local farmers.

Public Transportation and Parking

Metro Transit Hiawatha Line offers light rail service to 17 stations between Downtown Minneapolis and the airport and beyond to the Mall of America. Fares range from $1.75 to $3.00 each way. The Nicolette Mall Station is the closest station, about 5 blocks from the Hilton. For further information on the light rail system, go to http://www.metrotransit.org/rail/.

Hotel parking is $13 per day for self-parking and $23 per day for valet parking. Prices are subject to change.

Explore the Twin Cities

Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show is not the only thing that makes the Twin Cities famous! The Minneapolis-St. Paul area offers a multitude of attractions, cultural experiences, cuisine options, and beautiful natural surroundings. Spend an afternoon at the Como Zoo in St. Paul, or stroll through the beautiful botanical gardens free of charge. The Walker Art Museum is one the most notable art museums in the U.S., and the Guthrie Theater is the premier regional theater in the U.S. There's a new baseball stadium opening in 2010, and, if you like to shop, visit the Mall of America. Not your typical mall, it boasts over 400 retail stores as wells as movie theaters, bars, clubs, an indoor amusement park, and even an underground aquarium.
