This session will help attendees with the basics of financial statements, how to read them, and financial ratios used to measure a company's performance. We will boil the topic down to several simple steps that are easy to understand, and fun.

Bret Keisling is a founder and managing director of Capital Trustees, LLC, a boutique firm formed in 2012, specializing exclusively on trustee and fiduciary engagements for ESOPs. In 2008, he served as outside counsel for a multi-state, multi-million-dollar employee-owned distribution company that became a 100% ESOP. After the transaction, Bret joined the company, first as Sr. VP & general counsel, and then as president. Since then, he has been active in the ESOP community and is a strong proponent of the benefits of employee ownership. Bret hosts The ESOP Podcast.
