Employee Ownership Month provides us with an opportunity to celebrate, reward, and educate employee-owners and the companies they work for. Stepping back, it’s helpful to understand the history behind the celebration and why it matters today.

The Rutgers School of Labor and Management has just introduced a free online program that guides business owners through the process of selling their businesses to their employees through an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) or worker cooperative.

Newly updated state-by-state ESOP slides are now published in our members-only area, along with new industry-specific slides. These downloadable PowerPoint presentations are a member benefit breaking down the ESOP community in each state and industry.

As a benefit to our members, we produce downloadable PowerPoint slides for all 50 states. Each set of slides includes a map of ESOP company locations, the number of privately held ESOPs and participants, an industry breakdown, and more.   

A new study conducted by John Zogby Strategies on behalf of Employee-Owned S Corporations of America (ESCA), Employee Financial Health and Sentiments Amid the Pandemic, provides evidence that employees in S corporation ESOPs suffered fewer financial setbacks compared to a sample of employees at companies without ESOPs.
