Celebrating employee ownership means recognizing the value that every team member brings to the table, by creating a workplace where collaboration thrives, contributions are valued, and everyone shares in the rewards of success. That connection doesn't happen by accident. A well-run communication committee is the engine that makes it possible. This four-week course gives committee members and leaders a practical toolkit to build, run, and sustain an effective ESOP communication committee.

The NCEO's flagship communications committee training and networking program prepares both seasoned and novice communications committees to thrive in their employee-owned companies. Each 90 minute session will feature 45 minutes of facilitator-led learning, a 30-minute peer breakout session, and 15 minutes of wrap-up discussion/Q&A.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Design a structured, sustainable communication committee—including charter, member selection criteria, and onboarding process that fits their company's size and culture.
Build a year-round employee ownership education and communication strategy that meets employees where they are, from new hires to long-tenured employee-owners.
Measure and strengthen committee effectiveness over time by aligning with leadership, closing ownership perception gaps, and sustaining engagement through change.

Please note: The communications committee crash course is only open to employee-owned companies. Any service provider firms, even if employee-owned, will have their registration canceled and refunded.

You can earn up to 6 hours of SHRM credit for attending all four live sessions.

FAQs

Q: If I have a scheduling conflict, are the live sessions recorded so that I can watch them later?

A: Yes, all sessions will be recorded and available to those who cannot attend live sessions. Participation is encouraged as the breakout format cannot be recorded.

Q: How many sessions are there?

A: 4 sessions total.

Q: How long is each session?

A: Each session is approximately 90 minutes on average.

Q: Cost for each registration?

A: $450 for each individual registration ($600 for non-members) for the full course.

Q: How do we log in to live sessions?

A: Zoom Invite links to each email address in our registration list before each session. For groups with multiple registrants, please send the Events Team (eventhelp@nceo.org) a full list of emails for all those attending the live sessions.

Q: How do I access the sessions after registration?

A: One week before the first session, you will be sent a calendar invite with a link to the live training. Post-event, after each session, you will be sent an email with follow-up resources and a recording.

Lindsay Isaac

Lindsay Isaac is the director of education at the NCEO. In her role, she supports the development and improvement of employee ownership communication and education as well as ownership culture and employee engagement. She earned her BA from New York University. Her passion for employee ownership stemmed from her nine years of experience in the EO space, working on both the company and service provider side.
