CFO-Led Insights for Stronger, Sustainable ESOPs

The ESOP Finance Peer Network is a small, focused community of finance professionals from NCEO member companies. This exclusive group offers an opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with peers from other ESOP companies with invited experts in the field, sharing ideas, best practices, and insights to drive your organization forward.

Structure of the Peer Network

Each hour-long meeting centers on a specific topic designed to integrate finance into every aspect of an organization's culture and to support the growth of employee-owned companies. Our meetings will convene peers and experts to discuss issues both long and short term, allowing the group to address pressing topics. 

The group serves as a valuable forum to exchange ideas, tackle challenges, and learn from one another. Participants are encouraged to share documents and resources, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Example topics include:

  • Incorporating ESOP repurchase obligation into forecasts
  • The relationship between strategic planning and forecasts
  • Cash management, investing, and capital expenses
  • Planning compensation and benefits in the context of repurchase obligation
  • Risk management

Intended Audience

This peer network is designed for those involved in the financial leadership and wellbeing of employee-owned companies including CFOs, CEOs, Vice Presidents, Directors of Finance, and Controllers.

Being a part of the Finance Peer Network has been a wonderful experience. I’ve met other finance professionals from ESOP organizations who are responsible for accounting and strategic issues similar to the ones I focus on. We’ve been able to bounce ideas off each other and share suggestions for policies and procedures. If I come across a topic or issue that I want other perspectives on, I know I can reach out to this group for that knowledge.

2026 Meeting Details

Virtual meetings are held every other month during even months, on the third Wednesday from 11:00am-12:00pm PT  / 12:00-1pm MT / 1:00-2:00 CT / 2:00-3:00 ET.

In-person meetings are held at annual NCEO events.

The ESOP Finance Peer Network is free for all members with current NCEO Membership. There are no additional fees.
