The Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing at Rutgers University announced the latest scholars awarded fellowships to study employee ownership and related topics for the coming academic year.

The NCEO recently conducted an employee survey for a medium-sized ESOP company as part of its Ownership Culture Surveys Networking Program.

The Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing at the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations has opened applications for the J. Robert Beyster Fellowship, the Louis O. Kelso Fellowship, and other fellowships for the study of employee share ownership and profit sharing in the U.S. and internationally.

With remote work, socially distanced production, new shift schedules, and virtual meetings, companies are beginning to head toward a new normal in their operations.

A new NCEO research report, S Corporation ESOPs and Retirement Security, by Nancy Wiefek and Nathan Nicholson, documents the impact of employee ownership on employees, based on data for 61,000 plan participants at 39 ESOP companies.

We surveyed ESOP companies starting on April 10 in order to gather data on how they are faring so far in the application process. As of this writing, we have received 164 responses from companies with ESOPs. Of these, 115 or 70% have already submitted a PPP loan application, and most of the rest are actively working with a lender.

Our 2023 ESOP Repurchase Obligation Survey is now collecting responses from ESOP companies. The survey is open through March 15.
