Community Standards for Member Conversations

NCEO events have been marked by a high degree of respectful and appreciative interactions between attendees. To ensure a productive meeting for all attendees, the NCEO strives to provide a suitable learning environment for everyone. We have put together these Community Standards to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

ENCOURAGED ACTIONS or BEHAVIOR

  • Turn your webcam on, whenever possible, to more fully engage with others. This is a networking event intended to help you, our members, so it is important to create face-to-face interactions.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and video background while your camera is on.
  • Share your thoughts and encourage others to do the same by listening.

PROHIBITED ACTIONS or BEHAVIOR

  • Threatening, bullying, and/or harassing another person.
  • Discriminatory conduct of any nature, including but not limited to slurs or comments related to race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender and/or any conduct that could cause discomfort or perceived lack of respect to others.
  • Lewd or offensive behavior, such as obscene language or sharing inappropriate images.
  • Failure to comply with the policies, rules, or instructions of the NCEO staff or the event platform.

REPORTING INAPPROPRIATE CONDUCT

If you observe or experience harassment, discrimination, or other inappropriate treatment, please contact NCEO staff. You may do so by phone or via email at conduct@nceo.org. The NCEO will keep your identity confidential.

Any violation of these standards will be dealt with at the discretion of NCEO staff and may include a formal warning or a temporary or permanent ban from NCEO events and affiliation.

NCEO has the right to revise the Community Standards at any time and for any reason without notice.
