The National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) is the nation's leading organization for resources and information about employee ownership. Our work includes publications, conferences, surveys and research, seminars, webinars, training, outreach, and more. We have about 3,000 members, primarily consisting of employee-owned businesses, companies considering employee ownership, and service providers.
Position Summary
The Event Manager is responsible for the operational planning and execution of the NCEO’s portfolio of educational events, including conferences, seminars, and virtual programs. This role manages event logistics from planning through post-event evaluation while collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams, vendors, speakers, and sponsors to deliver high-quality experiences aligned with the NCEO’s mission.

Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Develop and manage the essential event timelines within the NCEO events portfolio, including end-to-end logistical management of all owned and managed events of the NCEO (The Annual Conference, The Forum, Webinars, small seminars, local and regional meetings)
Event Planning & Logistics
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Events and the Events Director on event design concepts and execution, strategy, contract administration, attendee engagement, experience, and ensure creative objectives are adhered to
- Plan, coordinate, and execute large-scale conferences and events for NCEO, including the Annual Conference, The Forum, and seminars, overseeing end-to-end logistical management
- Own end-to-end processes for ‘Is an ESOP Right for You?’ and other small regional meetings, including: project timeline creation, resetting event management platform for speakers and sponsors, marketing collateral, registration, attendee management, food and beverage, accommodations, continuing education, vendor management, and onsite execution.
- Monitor key performance indicators, event budgets, and metrics, ensuring events meet attendance and sponsorship goals
- Evaluate post-event attendee and education data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes for future events
- Coordinate external continuing education and other accreditation requirements for educational events, including post-event reporting and attendee certification.
Speaker & Content Management
- Execute the end-to-end speaker content management and sponsorship package execution, building upon past success and identifying new opportunities while leveraging a suite of technology products
- Support food and beverage plans, outlined by the Senior Director of Events and the Events Director, while ensuring accurate BEOs and F&B guarantees
Stakeholder Management
- Manage venue collaborations and ancillary departments to produce a seamless event
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure event success
- Support event registration and related processes, including vendor interface, pre-event, on-site, and post-event activities.
- Provide top-tier customer service for attendees, sponsors, and stakeholders, managing event logistics and finances within budget constraints
- Fulfill organizational expectations by leading efforts of cross-collaboration with partner organizations for event success
- Maintain growth protocols aligned with NCEO's strategic membership goals and manage marketing campaigns and content for target audiences
Marketing & Promotional
- Collaborating with marketing teams on promotional materials and campaigns
- Provide top-tier customer service for attendees, sponsors, and stakeholders, managing event logistics and finances within budget constraints
- Craft compelling content for event promotions, including emails, social media posts, event websites, and print materials, ensuring consistency with the NCEO's brand voice and objectives.
NCEO Organizational Expectations
- Attend and participate in bi-weekly staff meetings and other staff work meetings as needed
- Be prepared to answer common questions/requests from other department teams, members, speakers, sponsors, and attendees; be ready to answer incoming customer service inquiries when needed.
- Coordinate, organize, and execute annual staff strategic planning retreat to include: housing, flights, food and beverage, AV, transportation, activities, etc.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of two to three years of applicable event management and/or project management experience.

Travel Expectations: for the purposes of planning, attending, and/or contributing to NCEO events, it is necessary to travel by auto, air, or other such transportation 4 - 6 times in a calendar year.
